Parents – The Silent Pillars Behind Every Success

In the Indian Army, bravery and leadership are not limited to male officers—women too have risen with pride and power. One such inspiring name is Colonel Sofia Quraishi, who recently made headlines with her confident and precise media briefing after Operation Sindoor.
Born in Vadodara, Gujarat, and coming from a military family, Colonel Quraishi joined the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals in 1999. Her leadership came into the spotlight in 2016 when she became the first Indian woman officer to lead a multinational military exercise—ASEAN’s Force 18—among 18 participating countries.
During Operation Sindoor, when India carried out precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Colonel Quraishi addressed the nation. She confirmed that the selected targets were based on credible intelligence and involved in cross-border terrorism.
Her contributions go beyond military operations. She served a six-year tenure in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Congo, played a significant role in Operation Parakram after the 2001 Parliament attack, and was recognized for her leadership during flood relief operations in Northeast India, where her expertise in communication systems earned her top honors.
Colonel Sofia Quraishi is a living example that when women lead with courage, dedication, and discipline, they become the pride of a nation.
